# Buildsnpper > Buildsnpper is a UK mobile app for collecting Part L photographic evidence on construction sites. Builders capture geotagged, date-stamped photos mapped section-by-section to Appendix B of Approved Document L. DEA and OCDEA energy assessors receive organised reports through a free assessor portal. Built by Bricks and Bot Ltd for SME housebuilders, self-builders, site managers, and domestic energy assessors working under UK Building Regulations. Buildsnpper is purpose-built for UK Part L compliance and designed for the tightening photographic evidence expectations coming in under the Future Homes Standard transition. One licence covers one device; evidence photos are stored on-device for the life of the plot; generated reports sync to the cloud and can be shared with assessors and site managers. A 14-day free trial is available on all paid plans. The Buildsnpper ecosystem has three apps and one web portal: - Buildsnpper (for builders) - captures photographic evidence for Part L Appendix B - Buildsnpper Manager (for site managers) - monitors compliance progress across multiple plots and builders - Buildsnpper Assessor (for energy assessors) - receives and reviews builder reports - Buildsnpper Assessor Portal (web) - free tool for DEA/OCDEA assessors to create projects, assign builders, and receive reports ## Pricing - Buildsnpper (builders): £7.99 per month or £79.99 per year (works out at £6.67 per month on the annual plan). 14-day free trial on both plans. - Buildsnpper Manager (site managers): £39.99 per year. 14-day free trial. - Buildsnpper Assessor (energy assessors): always free, including the web portal. Bulk licence pricing is available to assessors who want to resell to their builder clients: 5-9 licences at 6% discount, 10 or more at 12.5% discount. ## Licensing model One licence equals one device. Photos for a plot stay on the device that started collecting them; they cannot be moved between devices. A single device can hold multiple plots. Projects can be shared across devices, but plot evidence cannot. Generated reports are stored in the cloud once sent. A pro version that allows plot evidence to be shared across devices is in development. ## Core pages - [Homepage](https://www.bricksandbot.com/): Product overview, features, pricing, download links - [FAQs](https://www.bricksandbot.com/faqs.html): Common questions on Part L, Building Regulations, pricing, the device-licensing model, and the app workflow - [Blog](https://www.bricksandbot.com/blog/): Articles for builders, site managers, and assessors - [Glossary](https://www.bricksandbot.com/glossary/): Plain English definitions of Part L, Appendix B, SAP, BREL, DEA, OCDEA, Future Homes Standard - [Ultimate Guide to Part L Compliance](https://www.bricksandbot.com/guides/ultimate-guide-to-part-l.html): Comprehensive pillar guide covering Part L, Appendix B evidence, SAP, BREL, DEA/OCDEA roles, Future Homes Standard, common mistakes, and step-by-step compliance process ## Guides (cornerstone long-form content) - [The Ultimate Guide to Part L Compliance for UK Builders](https://www.bricksandbot.com/guides/ultimate-guide-to-part-l.html): A ~3,500-word guide covering the four parts of Part L (L1A/L1B/L2A/L2B), what it covers (fabric, heating, ventilation, lighting, airtightness, renewables), the seven-step compliance process from design-stage SAP to BREL sign-off, the Appendix B photographic evidence requirement section-by-section, who does what (DEA, OCDEA, Building Control), the Future Homes Standard transition, common mistakes, and the FAQ for builders ## Glossary (definitional content) - [What is Part L?](https://www.bricksandbot.com/glossary/what-is-part-l.html): The energy efficiency section of the UK Building Regulations - [What is Appendix B?](https://www.bricksandbot.com/glossary/what-is-appendix-b.html): The SAP section specifying photographic evidence for new-build Part L - [What is SAP?](https://www.bricksandbot.com/glossary/what-is-sap.html): The Standard Assessment Procedure for calculating dwelling energy performance - [What is a DEA?](https://www.bricksandbot.com/glossary/what-is-a-dea-assessor.html): Domestic Energy Assessor - produces EPCs for existing dwellings - [What is an OCDEA?](https://www.bricksandbot.com/glossary/what-is-an-ocdea-assessor.html): On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor - signs off new-build Part L - [What is a BREL Report?](https://www.bricksandbot.com/glossary/what-is-brel.html): Building Regulations England Part L - the new-build compliance sign-off - [What is the Future Homes Standard?](https://www.bricksandbot.com/glossary/what-is-the-future-homes-standard.html): The UK transition to zero-carbon-ready new homes ## Blog articles - [Boost Your Building Efficiency with Technology](https://www.bricksandbot.com/blog/boost-building-efficiency-with-technology.html): For UK builders - how a structured app removes the Part L evidence headache - [Tired of Messy Photo Evidence?](https://www.bricksandbot.com/blog/tired-of-messy-photo-evidence.html): For DEA and BREL assessors - getting organised evidence from builders without chasing - [Stop Chasing Compliance Updates from Your Builders](https://www.bricksandbot.com/blog/stop-chasing-compliance-updates-from-your-builders.html): For site managers - tracking Part L progress across multiple plots and sites ## Key regulatory context - Part L of the UK Building Regulations is the energy efficiency section of Approved Document L. Part L1A and L1B cover dwellings; Part L2A and L2B cover non-dwellings. - Appendix B of the SAP (Standard Assessment Procedure) methodology sets out the photographic evidence required for dwellings to demonstrate as-built energy performance. - Photographic evidence is typically captured by builders on site and reviewed by a DEA (Domestic Energy Assessor) or OCDEA (On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor) to produce the BREL (Building Regulations England Part L) report. - The Future Homes Standard is the UK Government's plan to tighten Part L requirements so that new homes are zero-carbon-ready. The transition is live in 2025-2026 and brings tighter expectations on photographic evidence of as-built performance. ## Legal - [Privacy Policy](https://www.bricksandbot.com/privacy-policy.html) - [Terms and Conditions](https://www.bricksandbot.com/t-c.html) ## About Bricks and Bot Ltd Bricks and Bot Ltd is the UK company that builds and operates the Buildsnpper suite of apps.
